Accessibility Statement
What we aim for, what we have not finished, and how to tell us when something blocks you.
Last updated 2 August 2026
What we are working toward
In short: WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not claiming to have reached it, because we have not had it independently tested.
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA across the website, the admin application and the caregiver mobile app.
We have not commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim conformance. Plenty of vendors state a conformance level they have never tested. We would rather tell you where we actually are.
What we have done
In short: Keyboard navigation, semantic structure, contrast and large touch targets are built in from the start.
- Every interactive element on the website is reachable by keyboard with a visible focus indicator
- Navigation menus open on keyboard focus, not hover alone, and the site works with JavaScript disabled
- Semantic HTML with one h1 per page, ordered headings and real landmark regions
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background
- A skip link to main content at the top of every page
- The caregiver app uses a minimum 18px body text and 56px tap targets, designed for one-handed use on an older phone in bright sunlight
- Layouts that work from 320px wide without horizontal scrolling
Known gaps
In short: Screen reader testing is incomplete, the schedule grid is difficult without a mouse, and there is no Spanish version yet.
Being specific about what we know is not yet good enough:
- We have not completed systematic screen reader testing with VoiceOver, NVDA and TalkBack across every screen
- The drag and drop schedule grid in the admin app is hard to operate without a pointing device. A keyboard-accessible alternative is needed
- Map views showing client locations have no adequate non-visual equivalent
- No Spanish language version of the caregiver app or the caregiver help page yet, which matters given the Florida workforce
- Some PDF exports have not been tested for accessibility with assistive technology
Tell us when something blocks you
In short: Email hello@getcareverify.com. We reply within one business day and treat access barriers as bugs, not requests.
If any part of CareVerify is unusable for you, email hello@getcareverify.com with the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use if relevant.
We treat an access barrier as a defect and prioritize it accordingly. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you honestly and offer a workaround while it is being fixed.
How this statement is maintained
In short: It gets updated when the gaps change, and the date at the top reflects the last real review.
We review this statement whenever we ship a significant change to a user interface, and at least twice a year. The date at the top changes only when we have actually reviewed it, not to look current.
