CareVerify

CareVerify vs AxisCare

The straight answer

AxisCare is the bigger product. It bills, it submits claims, it processes payments, it has family portals and marketing tools, and it integrates with state EVV aggregators in more places than we do. If you want one platform to run the whole agency, it is a serious choice and we are not it. CareVerify covers visits, schedules and payroll hours, publishes what it costs, and lets you start without a sales call. Smaller on purpose.

What AxisCare does well

Stated without hedging, because these are real advantages. A comparison page written by a competitor is worth nothing if it cannot say plainly where the other product is stronger.

It runs the money side of the agency

Billing, invoicing, claims and payment processing with next-day funding for qualified merchants. This is the single biggest difference between the two products. We verify visits and hand you hours. AxisCare takes those hours and turns them into an invoice and a claim. If that gap is currently filled by you and a spreadsheet on a Sunday, it is worth real money.

It has done the state-by-state EVV integration work

AxisCare publishes an interactive map marking each state as currently supported, supporting soon, or a closed state. That map is worth looking at whoever you buy from, because it tells you something concrete about where a vendor has actually built and maintained an aggregator connection. We format exports for your aggregator, which is a smaller claim than a live integration and we would rather say so than blur the two.

Automatic verification with tolerances you set

You define the rules that decide which visits clear on their own, and only the exceptions come to a human. That is the same principle our exception queue is built on, and they arrived at it first.

Telephony, family portals and medication reminders

Clients without a smartphone can clock a caregiver in by phone. Families get a portal showing what happened. Caregivers get medication reminders on their schedule. We have none of these, and for an agency serving older clients whose adult children want visibility, the family portal on its own can decide the purchase.

It scales far past where we stop

Their tiers run to a thousand clients and beyond, with custom reporting, business intelligence and an API. We are built for agencies with 5 to 40 caregivers and we have no plans to chase the enterprise end. If you expect to be much larger in two years, buying the product that goes there is a reasonable call.

The part we would want to know first

AxisCare does not publish prices. Their pricing page has four tiers, and each one ends in a Request a Quote button rather than a number. What you pay is decided after a conversation about your agency.

We are not going to pretend that is unusual, because it is close to standard in this category, and it is not evidence of anything underhanded. Plenty of good software is sold this way. But it does mean you cannot compare cost without booking a call, and if you are trying to work out a budget on a Tuesday evening, that is a real obstacle.

Third-party software directories publish figures for AxisCare. We are not repeating them. We have not verified them, they are often years stale, and quoting a competitor's price we cannot stand behind would be exactly the kind of unsupported claim this page exists to avoid. Ask them, then put the real number into our cost calculator to see what it does at your caregiver count.

One structural difference worth checking

AxisCare sizes plans by client count. Their smallest tier covers up to 15 clients, and the next one runs from 15 to 500. We size by caregiver count instead.

That matters more than it sounds. An agency with a dozen caregivers running short daily visits can easily be serving thirty or forty clients, which puts it out of the smallest tier straight away. The same agency sits comfortably inside our middle plan. Run your own numbers both ways before assuming the small tier applies to you.

What we do instead

Less, on purpose, and it is a choice rather than a roadmap gap.

An agency management platform earns its price by covering everything. That is a coherent product and AxisCare builds it well. The cost of the model is that you carry the whole thing whether or not you use it, you learn a system built to handle a thousand-client agency, and you find out what it costs by asking.

We took the opposite position. CareVerify covers the loop that actually breaks in a small agency: knowing a caregiver arrived, knowing what next Tuesday looks like, and turning verified visits into hours you can pay people from without rebuilding them by hand.

  • Every plan includes every feature. The only variable is how many caregivers you have
  • A check-in is never blocked. If location fails or there is no signal, the visit is captured and flagged rather than lost
  • Caregivers see their own running verified hours, which is what makes them use it rather than tolerate it
  • Payroll export covers every visit type, with unresolved visits surfaced before you export rather than dropped
  • The price is on the pricing page, and the trial starts at your first caregiver check-in rather than at signup

We also do not do applicant tracking, marketing tools or general accounting. Each of those is how a focused product turns into a worse version of a suite.

Which situation are you in?

Buy AxisCare if

  • You need billing and Medicaid claims in the same system as your visits
  • You want families to have a portal, or clients need telephony clock-in
  • You are past 40 caregivers, or expect to be within a couple of years
  • You want marketing, referral tracking and business intelligence in one place
  • Your state needs a live aggregator integration rather than a formatted export

This is a good outcome. It is a capable product and we would rather you bought the right thing.

Consider CareVerify if

  • You have 5 to 40 caregivers and your problem is visits, schedules and payroll hours
  • You already bill through your state system or a payroll provider you like
  • You want to see a price and try the thing before speaking to anybody
  • You have been quoted for a platform where most of the modules do not apply to you
  • Your caregivers work in homes where the signal drops and you are losing records

Buy neither if

  • Your state gives you a free sponsored portal and nearly all your visits run through it. Read the HHAeXchange comparison first
  • You are Medicare-certified home health needing OASIS and clinical documentation. Neither of these is a clinical system
  • You have four caregivers, one payer and a process that is working

Side by side

AxisCare wins 10 of these rows and we win 3. That is the honest shape of it: they built a platform and we built a tool. The rows they win are all things we chose not to build, which is only a good trade if you did not need them.

Questions

How much does AxisCare cost?

They do not publish it. Their pricing page lists four tiers by client count, and every one of them has a Request a Quote button rather than a number. Several third-party software directories publish figures, but we cannot verify them and we are not going to repeat a competitor's price we have not confirmed. Ask AxisCare directly, and use our cost calculator to model what the quote means at your size.

Is AxisCare better than CareVerify?

On a feature count, yes, and it is not close. AxisCare bills, submits claims, processes payments, runs marketing and referral tracking, and has client and family portals. We do none of that. The question worth asking is not which product does more, it is whether you need the parts we left out. If you do, AxisCare is the better buy.

Can I run both?

You could, but it would be a waste. Unlike a sponsored state portal, which covers a different scope from us, AxisCare overlaps almost entirely with what we do. Scheduling, visit verification, a caregiver app and payroll hours all exist in both. Pick one.

Does CareVerify submit Medicaid claims?

No. We are not an EVV aggregator, we are not any state's designated system, and we do not submit claims. AxisCare does handle billing. If claims submission is on your list, that is a real and sufficient reason to choose them over us.

Why do you price by caregiver when AxisCare prices by client?

Because caregivers are what our product is sized around. Every plan includes every feature and the only variable is how many people are checking in. Client-count pricing is a reasonable model too, but it prices a different thing, and the two are worth comparing carefully if you run many short visits for a large caseload.

Are you affiliated with AxisCare?

No. CareVerify is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with AxisCare. AxisCare is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to identify the product being discussed.

If this page pointed you at AxisCare

Then it did its job. Ask them for a quote, check your state on their EVV map, and make sure the tier you are being priced into matches your client count rather than your caregiver count.

If you recognized your agency in the middle box, the price is published and the trial is 14 days with no card.
